Hotel  --  --  read long enough and one becomes full of information  - this location is very near where I last saw Pearl Tecumsah Bluejacket in 1953.  In a car load of graduating sophomores from Parsons Jr College, we stopped in Vinita for a cup of coffee enroute to fishing in Arkansas right after final exams.  Inside the cafe was Uncle Pearl, regaling a New York couple on vacation with Indian stories.  He didn't recognize me but I sat close and listened in.  I quickly realized that he was setting them up for a handout!  He was a marvelous story teller. Illinois Avenue was US 66 and caught all the traffic bound for the west. GCH }
